We're on a EuroStar train to Venice, and just now passing through the Bologna station. To borrow a phrase from Ferris Buler, "If you have the means, I highly recommend it." The window shades are automated, there are reading lamps and leg room, and tables and bar service. It almost seems like a waste to sleep on a train like this.

I have 16 days' clothes with me, having packed for four days in Venice, a week in Greece, and few days of skiing in the Dolomites.
